Install Pulse to 750 Gas meter with IN-Z41 Leads

Set up and installation instructions

What you will need:

  • Your Pulse & the accessories that come in it's box
  • IN-Z41 leads (you can order these through us)
  • Flat head screw
  • 3m or zip ties if required.

1. Connect IN-Z41 leads to the Pulse

  1. Pop out the circuit board

Carefully lift the board out of the Pulse housing. If it’s really snug, gently wedge a small flathead screwdriver into a corner to pry it out—it’s seals tight to stay waterproof so this can be a little tricky.

  2. Remove the base and bolt

Take off the plastic bottom, then unscrew the bolt at the end of the board.

  3. Prep the IN-Z41 leads

Thread the IN-Z41 cable through that bolt, then peel back/ cut off a bit of the outer jacket to expose more wire for easy connection.

  4. Choose and fit the rubber stopper

From the Pulse parts kit, pick the black stopper that best matches your cable thickness. Slide it onto the wires before the bolt.

  5. Seal the cable entry

Pass the leads through the Pulse base and tighten the bolt to lock everything in place and keep it watertight.

  6. Connect the wires

On the circuit board, loosen screws labeled 6 and 7 just enough to slip in the wires.

    • Terminal 6: Insert the green (ground) wire and tighten.

    • Terminal 7: Insert the brown (impulse) wire and tighten.

(You can leave the yellow and white wires untouched.)

  7. Close up the Pulse

Snap the board back into the base cover, and then slide it back into the Pulse to seal it close.

  8. Attach Leads to IN-Z41 unit

Insert the In-Z41 lead cable into the hole in the IN-Z41 unit

    2. Mount the IN-Z41 on the meter

Hook the top clip into the slot at the bottom right of your gas meter and hold it steady.

Unscrew the provided bolt, thread it through both the meter and the IN-Z41 housing, then refit and tighten the bolt to secure it.

You can watch a video of of how to do it here too

3. Add the Pulse device in the Tether App

  1. Download the App (scan QR)
  2. Choose (or add) your property,
  3. Select "Connect Device" and Scan the barcode on the back of the Pulse
  4. Create a location/ space or select one if already created
  5. Take photo: When taking a photo try and get a photo of the Pulse device with a bit more context of where it is positioned/ surroundings as this helps for trouble shooting

4. Secure inside the gas box

Use the supplied screws, or purchase some zip-ties, or 3M tape to fasten the Pulse as high up as possible for the strongest signal. While the Pulse is waterproof, the IN-Z41 is not, so also be mindful of this when positioning it.

5. Check your data

Gas metrics aren’t live in the mobile app just yet (we’re building that API), but you can confirm readings on the desktop platform. Data usually appears within 5–30 minutes—and only when there’s actual gas flow.

To see your gas data in then Deskop Platform:

  1. Select the property you are wanting to view
  2. Select the  'Areas' tab,
  3. Select "Outside'
  4. Find the Pulse you want to view and click on the "View readings" button

If no data is displaying, here are a few steps for troubleshooting:

  1. Check the correct wires are in the correct hole
  2. Check screws are tight enough
  3. Check signal - is the Gateway plugged in
